Customers of the City of Big Bear Lake Department of Water (BBLDWP) will be spared from a two percent rate increase on their water service starting July 1. The rate increase was approved as part of a rate schedule in 2018 to keep up with increasing operating and capital costs of providing water service to the Department’s customers.
“Due to the recent financial hardship placed on many of our customers by the COVID-19 virus, the Board members voted unanimously to rescind the previously approved rate increase for the year ending June 30, 2021,” explained BBLDWP Board Chair Bob Tarras.
In service to our motto, “Service, Quality, Community,” and mission to “cost effectively deliver quality water to meet the needs of our current and future customers,” BBLDWP management and staff doggedly pursue sustainability and efficiency measures that are positive in the long term.
“We are proud that we have been able to pass these savings on to customer’s when they need it most,” added BBLDWP General Manager, Reginald Lamson.
