Community Involvement
Our Community
Community is in our motto at the Department of Water and Power (DWP). Staff members are not just utility employees; we are members of the community, neighbors, friends, and associates. If you would like a member of our team to come to your business, event, school or club meeting, call us at (909) 866-5050 or email us.
Community events are a vital and social part of who we are as residents of the Bear Valley. We invest our time and our efforts in joining other individuals, groups, and companies in setting up booths and becoming actively involved in local events. We always have free gifts and handouts as well as information on water and water use efficiency. We welcome the opportunity to participate in events that align with our mission and provide value to our customers.
We teach students about water through fun, hands-on activities. Tell us what you want or let us be creative.
Topics include:
- The water cycle
- Drought
- Water efficiency
- Our local water supply - groundwater
- California's water supply
Like all businesses, the Department of Water and Power (DWP) is forever conscious of our bottom line and acutely aware of the expense of running a business. To this end, we are a willing partner in helping you save water and money. Businesses qualify for toilet rebates, free indoor plumbing surveys, outdoor irrigation and landscape surveys, turf buybacks and more. We provide free water efficient linen cards for the lodging industry and free table tent cards for restaurants.
