CALIFORNIA LILAC
Ceanothus sp.
General Characteristics: Medium to large-sized shrub with distinctly veined leaves. Established plants are covered with flowers each spring. |
Flowers & Fruits: Flowers mid to late spring. Colors vary from white to blue, usually fragrant. Height: Usually 3-4 feet, sometimes larger. Width: Usually 5-6 feet, sometimes larger. Horticultural Notes: Available commercially with some searching. Small plants transplants well. Seeds need to be scored before germination will occur. Once established, requires no irrigation. Prefers full sun. |
