PLANT LISTS

PLANT LIST DISCLAIMER

The following lists were compiled to assist gardeners in the Big Bear Valley in finding decorative plants that are cold tolerant, drought tolerant, and attractive. These lists should be viewed as an introduction to plants suitable for the Big Bear Valley and to overcome the notion that we have limited options due to our cold, dry climate. Availability of the listed plants varies from readily available at our local nurseries to very difficult to find. Before you purchase any of these plants, you should discuss them with one of our local nurseries, landscapers, or research them yourself on the internet or at the library. Feel free to contact the DWP's Water Conservation Coordinator at (909) 866-5050 to discuss these lists and low water-use landscaping in the Big Bear Valley.
