LILACS - THE GENUS SYRINGA

Syringa is a genus of shrubs and small trees native to Southeastern
Europe and Asia. They have been cultivated and hybridized
for many years. In general, they are drought and cold tolerant,
prefer well-drained soils, their flowers are various shades
of white, pink, purple, blue, red, and are variously scented.
Many of these species have numerous varieties and hybrids.
