General Characteristics: A perennial shrub native to the Big Bear Valley. Leaves are pale to dark green. Flowers & Fruits: Flowers in late spring. Flower color ranges from white to purple. Fruits ripen in mid-summer and dehisce explosively. Collecting seed requires good timing. Height: 1-2 feet. Width: 1-3 feet. Horticultural Notes: Available commercially with some searching. No irrigation needed, once established. |
