BLUE FESCUE

General Characteristics: An attractive bunch grass with bluish leaves. Flowers and Fruits: Flowers from late spring late summer. Flowers are wind pollinated, like all grasses. Seeds mature in fall. Height: Vegetation: 12-18 inches, flowers: 1 1/2-2 feet. Width: 12-18 inches. Horticultural Notes: Available commercially as several cultivars. Will survive with no irrigation, once established. Looks best with a deep soaking, once per month. Prefers full sun, but will tolerate partial shade. Trim to a softball sized clump annually. Dividing clumps every couple years improves vigor. |
