General Characteristics: A perennial herbaceous shrub with dissected, green leaves. Emerges each spring and dies back to the ground by mid-summer. |
Flowers & Fruits: Flowers from late spring through mid-summer. Flowers: are red and white, heart-shaped, and very attractive. Height: 2-3 feet. Width: 2-3 feet. Horticultural Notes: Available commercially. Once established, requires no irrigation. Prefers lightly shaded areas. Several California Natives are worth trying, if you can find them. D. chrysantha, D. pauciflora, D. uniflora. |
