General Characteristics: An evergreen, succulent with gray-green pads appearing nearly spineless. However, handling them will cover your hands with thousands of minute hair-like spines (be careful). Native to the Big Bear Valley.

Height: 10-15 inches.

Width: 1-4 feet.

Horticultural Notes: Available commercially. Once established, requires no irrigation. Prefers full sun, but will tolerate partial shade.
