John Gross joined the Department of Water and
Power in January 2000 as a temporary laborer.
He was hired as a full-time Meter Technician
in April 2003, and has since been promoted. He
is now the Supervisor of the Customer Field Service
Department. The Customer Field Service Department
is responsible for reading meters, connecting
or disconnecting water services, locating leaks,
determining the location of the DWP's underground
facilities and meeting the overall needs of our
customers in the field. John currently holds
a Water Distribution Operator Grade II and a
Water Treatment Operator Grade I from the State
of California, Department of Health Services.
