Water Conservation CoordinatorBill La Haye joined the DWP in January 2003 as the Water Conservation Specialist. Bill manages the DWP's Water Conservation Program along with assisting on numerous special projects. He also coordinates DWP's web site, is the primary contact person for the media, and is DWP's low water-use landscape specialist. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geology and a Master's Degree in Natural Resources with an emphasis in Wildlife Management. Bill worked installing, repairing, and testing domestic and agricultural pumps and wells in Northern California. He also spent time designing agricultural irrigation systems. For the past two decades, Bill coordinated research projects studying the natural vegetation in Northern and Southern California. He also specialized in drought-tolerant plants and landscapes in the Big Bear Valley. Portions of his cactus collection are housed at the Huntington and Moorten's Botanical Gardens.
