IRRIGATION SEASON IS COMING TO AN END
AMPLE RAINFALL WILL ALLOW EVERYONE TO WINTERIZE NOW!
As of November 1st, all irrigation systems
must be shut off and winterized in the DWP service area.
But, why wait until then? Big Bear Valley received over two
inches of rain during the last couple of days. This should
be more than enough water to maintain your lawn until November
1st. After this date, both DWP and CSD regulations do not
allow lawns to be watered until April 1st. So, help the community
do more with less by taking advantage of the early fall weather.
Winterizing is a key part of annual maintenance
of all irrigation systems in Big Bear. Failure to winterize
properly may damage your system when water in the pipes freezes.
Not only can this lead to costly repairs, but it may lead
to an extensive leak that is expensive for the property owner
and wastes the community's most valuable resource, water!
Irrigation systems are not only expensive to install, they
require regular maintenance and should not be taken for granted.
Costly repairs and expensive leaks could be the result of
ignoring your responsibility. Help the community do more
with less by winterizing today.
