WATER-USE REGULATIONS REMINDER
Please keep in mind that all DWP customers are
still under Water Shortage Emergency Stage I water use restrictions,
with the exception of Lake William, which is under Water Shortage
Emergency Stage II water use restrictions.
No watering between 9:00 am and 6:00
pm. In the middle of
the day, as much as 50% of the water you apply to your lawn
or garden can be lost to evaporation due to elevated air, ground,
and vegetation temperatures.
Odd/even scheduling. Odd addresses may irrigate on odd calendar
days, even addresses on even calendar days.
New turf installations plus existing turf, may not exceed
500 square feet in size, and must be approved by the DWP
prior to installation.
Why not take control of the situation and ensure a water efficient
community by committing to water-wise landscaping? Conserve
water year after year with the many attractive landscape options
that require little or no irrigation. These range from decks,
walkways, and rock gardens to a variety of trees, shrubs, and
perennial flowering xeriscape plants.
Want to see how other members of the community have committed
to water-wise landscaping? Join the fun and exchange low water-use
gardening ideas at the sixth annual Xeriscape Tour. Registration
is from 9:00 am to noon, Saturday July 12th, 2008 at Eminger's
Nursery.
