CURRENT WATER-USE REGULATIONS
DWP WATER USE REGULATIONS
AS OF MAY 27, 2008
Water shortage emergencies, related to drought
or insufficient supply, can be declared and emergency regulations
may be enacted by the Board of Commissioners as specified
in California Water Code Sections 350 & 351. In June
2003, the DWP Board of Commissioners declared a water shortage
emergency within the DWP service area in the Big Bear Valley.
On February 27, 2007, the Board of Commissioners approved
updating the guidelines associated with water shortage emergencies
by adopting Resolution No. DWP 2007-02 and on May 27, 2008
Conservation Stage I regulations were declared.
The following table provides a summary of the
key water-use regulations associated with each of the four
Conservation Stages described in the Water Shortage Emergency
section of Resolution No. DWP 2007-02. To obtain a complete
