WATER USE IN THE BIG BEAR VALLEY
Where does it all go???

The following are some general water use statistics for the Big Bear Valley. These numbers vary slightly between summer, winter and year-to-year. Nonetheless, the following provides an overview of how we use water. All percentages are based on water sold to customers each year.

Residential water use: 80-85%

Business water use: 15-20%

Indoor water use: 70%

Outdoor water use: 30%
      Winter months: 1% or less
      Summer months: 50%

Residential water use during the summer months.

Accounts using 80 ccfs or more per billing period account for 2% of the customer base and use 25% of residential water.

Accounts using 45 ccfs or more per billing period account for 9% of the customer base and use 50% of residential water.

Water used by new services: less than 1%
