CONSERVATION CORNER
RAIN & COLD?
IT'S TIME TO WINTERIZE YOUR IRRIGATION SYSTEM
Rain in October! We haven't seen this in a few years.
Hopefully, this is the beginning of a very wet winter.
You can check long-range weather forecasts, El Niño
updates, satellite, and radar images anytime by clicking
to view the weather
links on this site, www.bbldwp.com. Speaking of weather
and seasons, both CSD and DWP have approved resolutions
requiring all customers with irrigation systems to do the
following.
All outdoor irrigation systems shall be shut
off and winterized between November 1st and April 1st each
year.
Now is the time to take advantage of our cool,
wet fall weather and contribute towards the community's water
conservation effort. If this winter turns out to be another
dry one, we will need every drop next summer. Keep in mind
that we will need several wet winters to overcome the long-term
effects of the current drought. Please continue to use water
efficiently.
