CONSERVATION CORNER
MOUNTAINSCAPING
A mountainscape is any landscape that is designed
with a special focus on water conservation. Attractive landscapes
can be designed that use relatively little water. Most of
these will not include turf. However, small areas of thoughtfully
placed turf may be included in your mountainscape. Although,
the majority of a mountainscape will most likely be composed
of features like gazebos, pathways, gravel and rock features,
and woodchips, etc. with carefully placed low water-use plantings.
To discuss these topics, and other water conservation associated
with mountainscapes, contact Bill at the DWP office 866-5050.
